ALPHA LIPOIC ACID

A powerful antioxidant
DESCRIPTION
Behind this name little known to the general public hides an excellent antioxidant. Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is considered one of the most powerful antioxidants present in the human body to date.
Antioxidants are elements that slow down aging and the alterations caused by time, pollution and other oxidative stresses. Here are the reasons I take ALA as a supplement every day.
A precious and powerful antioxidant
- Free radicals are unstable elements that destroy cell DNA, accelerate aging and can even cause cancer.
- It is also these free radicals that are responsible for inflammatory reactions in the body, and we now know that chronic inflammation is the cause of many other pathologies such as arthritis, obesity, psoriasis, cardiovascular diseases , diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.
ALA has been shown to decrease CRP, a marker of inflammation in the blood. This dietary supplement therefore plays an important role.
Another property that makes alpha lipoic acid really unique: in addition to being the best antioxidant, it also allows other antioxidants such as vitamin E or vitamin C to be partially recycled in the event of a deficiency of the latter.
It also has beneficial effects with an increase in insulin sensitivity in people with type II diabetes, but that's not all.
Alpha lipoic acid also participates in the detoxification of heavy metals in our body (arsenic, cadmium, mercury) with its chelating effect.

Benefits of Alpha Lipoic Acid
Soluble in water and fats
Fat-soluble vitamins (such as A, E, D, and K) require the presence of fat to be transported and absorbed.
So if you swallow your multivitamin with a glass of water and don't eat a meal at the same time, it's unlikely that these nutrients will be absorbed.
Crosses the blood-brain barrier
This is due to the blood-brain barrier (BBB), which essentially acts as a protective filtering mechanism to only let through certain substances, especially our body's natural hormones as well as many small molecules.
As a result, good nutrients are often blocked, such as antioxidants. Does alpha lipoic acid cross the blood-brain barrier? Well yes ! And few antioxidants can. It is therefore very important to slow down the effects of brain aging.
Use: 1 capsule per day with a little water.
